Cub Scouts, done right

Less sitting.
More doing.

Cub Scouts gives kids a place to move, explore, build confidence and belong. We keep meetings active and make outdoor adventures a regular part of the program—not a once-a-year extra.

New families are welcome to visit a meeting before deciding whether to register.

Good to know

You bring the kid.
We’ll help with the rest.

Do we need a uniform right away?

No. The uniform builds belonging, but it should never keep a child from participating. When you’re ready, Pack 221 prioritizes the official uniform shirt and provides each Scout’s neckerchief. We can also help families find uniform assistance.

Do parents stay at meetings?

Cub Scouting is a family program. Lions and Tigers must have an adult partner with them. Parents of older Scouts are strongly encouraged to stay involved, especially as our Pack grows.

What if we’ve never camped?

Perfect. We’ll hold a hands-on camping skills night before our first campout. Families can learn how to set up tents and sleeping gear, and Pack 221 has access to equipment that may be borrowed.

What grade belongs to which rank?

Lion is Kindergarten, Tiger is 1st grade, Wolf is 2nd, Bear is 3rd, Webelos is 4th and Arrow of Light is 5th. Dens usually stay together and move up a rank each year.

What does Pack 221 expect from families?

Bring your Scout, participate when you can and help us create a safe, energetic program. You don’t need Scouting experience. We’ll provide training, plans and support for adults who want to help.
